Future of Water Scholarship Program

Scholarship Details 

  • Full payment of domestic tuition and books for the three-year Civil Engineering Technologies program (Water Resources Option) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic; 
  • A living stipend of $1,000 per month during months attending classes; 
  • Guaranteed paid co-op placement in a SaskWater location following first year; 
  • Guaranteed placement in a Technologist position at one of SaskWater’s facilities upon graduation; and 
  • Return in service requirement of four years.

Eligibility 

  • Grade 12 Saskatchewan graduate within the past three years. 
  • Canadian resident or permanent resident eligible to work in Canada. 
  • Graduating average of 80% or above. 
  • Grade of 80% or above in Pre-Calculus30 and Chemisty30. 
  • Must have applied to Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Civil Engineering Program (Water Resources Option) and received acceptance communication. 

Applicants must: 

  • Apply to the Civil Engineering Technologies program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. 
  • Submit scholarship application package to SaskWater by emailing hr@saskwater.com. Subject line should indicate “Scholarship Application Package – Name of Applicant”. 

Application package must include: 

  • a resume; 
  • a one-page essay explaining your interest in water; 
  • a high school transcript;
  • proof of acceptance to the Civil Engineering Technologies program (Water Resources Option) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic; and
  • Have letters of reference submitted by two sources (not family or friends) who can comment on your character, work ethic, extra-curricular activities, community involvement, etc. These must be submitted directly from the reference to hr@saskwater.com. Subject line should indicate “Scholarship Application – Letter of Reference – Name of Applicant”.
  • All steps above must be completed by February 28th to qualify for September program start. 

Scholarship finalist candidates can expect: 

  • An interview and facility tour at a SaskWater location. 

Important details: 

  • Candidates must select the Water Resources option for their second year of study. The Civil Construction option is not eligible for scholarship sponsorship. 
  • Two recipients will be selected from eligible applicants.
  • Program location is Moose Jaw, SK. 
  • Scholarship recipients must maintain good academic standing.
