SaskWater and UNIFOR Local 820 announced today that they have reached a new collective bargaining agreement. A tentative agreement was reached on March 5, 2024, with ratification complete as of March 19, 2024.
"Our government believes that the best agreements are reached at the bargaining table, which is why I am very pleased that an agreement has been reached, and that it recognizes how highly we value our employees," Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskWater, said. "These individuals ensure SaskWater is able to provide safe and reliable water services to Saskatchewan communities.”
“We appreciate our positive working relationship with SaskWater and are pleased to have reached a new agreement,” said Curtis Schenk, President of UNIFOR Local 820.
The CBA is retroactive to January 1, 2024, and will see wage increases annually at a rate of 3 per cent (January 1, 2024), 3 per cent (January 1, 2025), and 2 per cent (January 1, 2026), with the CBA scheduled to expire December 31, 2026.
