JACQUIE GIBNEY HIRED AS SASKWATER PRESIDENT AND CEO
The SaskWater Board of Directors is pleased to announce Jacquie Gibney as President and CEO, effective immediately. Gibney formally takes over the role, after an extensive and open search process, from Doug Matthies, who retired on December 31, 2024.
Gibney joined SaskWater in 2014 as the Vice President, Corporate and Customer Service, a position she held until becoming Acting President on January 1, 2025.

I’m excited to build on that commitment as we continue our mission to create trusted and sustainable water solutions for a vibrant Saskatchewan.”
Prior to joining SaskWater, Gibney held several positions with Farm Credit Canada, including Director of Corporate Communications and Change Management and Director of Strategy and Government Relations. She also spent over 20 years with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture in a variety of senior capacities, including Assistant Deputy Minister responsible for research and industry development. Gibney has over 30 years of public sector experience, including agriculture finance, policy and program development, corporate communications, strategic planning, government relations, research and business development. Gibney has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
