Accessibility at SaskWater

As a Saskatchewan Crown corporation, SaskWater is required to have an accessibility plan in place and posted on its website to adhere to the Accessible Saskatchewan Act (ASA).

The ASA aims to improve accessibility so all people can participate in their communities through work, play and other daily activities. As part of the ASA, which came into force December 3, 2023, all designated public sector bodies were required to create their own accessibility plan within two years.

SaskWater is committed to meeting the needs and abilities of all people while respecting their dignity and independence. SaskWater believes in inclusion, values diversity and recognizes the importance of improving access for its employees, customers and the public.

The 2026-2028 SaskWater Accessibility Plan, posted in November 2025, is focused on four key areas of accessibility:

  • Built Environment - improving physical spaces in our offices and facilities to meet or exceed accessibility standards.
  • Information and Communication - ensuring our website, documents, and customer resources are accessible to everyone.
  • Attitudinal Barriers - fostering an inclusive culture through disability awareness, education, and training.
  • Employment - providing accommodations so persons with disabilities can thrive in their careers with SaskWater.

As a part of the plan, the AccessiBe app has been added to the website to provide accessible options for users to navigate through the information. The icon is in the lower left corner of the screen and opens a list of options to activate.
