Community Involvement

Community Investment

Through its Community Investment Policy, SaskWater supports Saskatchewan communities by providing sponsorships of cash or in-kind contributions and donations of cash or promotional items.

SaskWater will consider investing in activities that represent the greatest impact possible. Sponsorships and donations may be provided to provincial activities, customer communities, potential SaskWater customer communities, or to organizations located in communities where SaskWater employees live and work. Support is considered and categorized in the following areas: Partnership, Community Enhancement, Environment/Sustainability and First Nations/Diversity.

Sponsorships

Sponsorships are where SaskWater and its partners collaborate in pursuit of shared goals, resulting in mutual benefit. A sponsorship consists of a cash or in-kind contribution, given in exchange for an equivalent degree of benefit or recognition.

Donations

SaskWater donates to Saskatchewan communities by contributing cash in support of events, activities or programs that are important to those communities. Cash donations are considered to be purely philanthropic, where SaskWater expects no significant benefit or recognition in return.

Promotional Items

SaskWater’s presence in Saskatchewan communities is visibly promoted through donations of promotional items that feature the SaskWater logo. Promotional item donations are considered to be purely philanthropic, where SaskWater expects no significant benefit or recognition in return.

In 2022-23, SaskWater provided Community Investment support to 57 events in 36 communities across the province.
