Water Treatment Plant


The treatment process is crucial to providing safe, quality drinking water to end users. SaskWater offers their expertise in performing the following essential treatment functions.

  • Facility inspections to ensure proper operation
  • Record meter and gauge readings
  • Prepare chemical solutions as required
  • Backwash filters
  • Filter regeneration
  • Test and maintain records of treated water as required by regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of all aspects of the Water Supply System as required, including, but not limited to chemical use, water consumption, equipment maintenance and pump operation
  • Inspect process control equipment to ensure proper operation of chlorinators, flash mixing, coagulation, flocculation systems, clarifier pumps, filters, chemical feeders
  • Inspect and operate pump controls and valve controls for pumping all process streams
  • Inspect all motors and electrical equipment;
  • Process Optimization – (e.g. jar tests, chemical feed pump calibration)
  • Clarifier inspection
  • Mixing chamber cleaning
  • Chemical tank cleaning
  • Filter inspection
  • On-site & off-site Equipment calibration (including lab equipment)
  • Report to the regulator - Saskatchewan Environment
