Certified Operation and Maintenance
SaskWater contracts with communities to provide certified operation and maintenance of their water and wastewater utilities, including water supply, treatment, storage, distribution and wastewater disposal. We also provide regulatory reporting and consultation, 24/7 continuous monitoring, emergency planning and customer support services.
We work with our customers to determine an appropriate level of service depending on their existing infrastructure and the customer's needs.
SaskWater is able to offer the services of its qualified certified operators to communities and associations located near our existing operating centers, specifically; Saskatoon, Wakaw-Humboldt region, Melfort region, Regina, Elbow, and Gravelbourg. Communities surrounding these operations have the opportunity to benefit from the experience that SaskWater's technologist and technicians gain by managing SaskWater's facilities. Waterworks facilities in Vanscoy, White City and Edenwold are examples of systems under the supervision of SaskWater's certified operators.
SaskWater is also able to offer its qualified supervision of community owned facilities to some customers outside of our current service areas. SaskWater considers location, size, and our own ability to deliver a minimum standard of quality service when determining whether it is possible to provide COM services to a new customer. The Jackfish Lake Water Utility Corporation is an example of a COM customer outside of SaskWater's current service area. SaskWater operates and maintains the corporation's treatment plant and distribution systems serving the village of Meota and surrounding resort villages. SaskWater operators at this location are then also able to provide service to the village of Paynton.
